Shortly after the market Iaunch of the new Opel Corsa, Steinmetz has already developed a complete range of special accessories which wiIl be officially launched at the Essen Motor Show 2000.
The first step was the adaptation of the Steinmetz rear silencer, made totally from stainless steel in the characteristic Steinmetz design with two trapezoid tailpipes. The rear silencer gives the "Corsa voice" a more throaty, sporting sound and optimises gas flow further. The rear silencer also forms part of the performance upgrade kits which are now in development. Work is concentrating on the Steinmetz camshaft kit and the diesel power upgrades, designed to give perceptibly better performance. The Steinmetz sports airfilter, which will also be included in the performance upgrade kits and which will realise an even better throttle response, is in preparation for al¡ modeis (also for cars without engine tuning). To give the sporty little car better driving dynamics, our engineers and technicans have carried out extensive testing on the N£rburgring North Loop and on public roads in order to develop a Steinmetz sports suspension. A Iowering kit to bring the Corsa C around 30 mm closer to the road s also undergoing tests at present. Used n conjunction with the Steinmetz wheel and tyre combinations, this conversion combines sporting driving with even greater safety reserves - with no loss of comfort. Also in development are the special Stahlflex brake unes with Teflon coating inside. The Steinmetz brake lines improve constant brake pressure. 17" for the Corsa - this is also a premiere. The classic Steinmetz ST1 Ight alloy wheel is already avaijable in various sizes from 6J x 15" for the standard tyres up to 7,5J x 17" with 225/35 R 17. The Steinmetz Corsa owes its unmistakable Iooks to the characteristic front grille and front spoiler. The Steinmetz sports mirrors wiIl also be used. For the rear, more styling components - a rear roof spoiler and a two pece rear skirt as weIl as an aluminium filler tank cap - are now in the development stage and will guarantee aerodynamic and styling balance. The connection between front and rear 5 formed by the Steinmetz side skirts and the Steinmetz decais.
For the inside of the car, our designers are working on a high quality interior to complete the range for the Steinmetz Corsa and give a real motorsport atmosphere. This programme - starting with sports airbag steering wheels, alumiunium pedals and a foot rest through gear shift knobs and handbrake handle up to floor mats - will leave no wishes unrealized. Individual ful¡ leather interiors are available on request in al¡ colours and styles. |
